About Us
Skate City Speed Team
The Skate City Speed Team was created by Coach and Professional Speed Skater BJ Steketee and Coach Jenny Steketee. This husband and wife team has been coaching for 6 years and has been involved in competitive racing for over 20 years. They have successfully coached all levels of racing from the beginner level all the way to the National Level. They have three children, Megan age 5, Abby age 3 and Grace age 5 months. Megan races in the 5 and under division and also likes gymnastics and dance. Abby is excited to race with her sister and can’t wait to be big enough to race. She also likes gymnastics. Grace's favorite thing to do is watch her sister’s play and skate.

Others involved
We are grateful to the rink owner of Skate City QCA in East Moline, Dr. Fehr, for letting us start this speed team. Without a wonderful and top rated skating facility this club would not be possible. We are also looking for a few people who are looking to learn how to coach. The program that we run is a very structured program with specific goals. We are looking for anyone who would be dedicated to learning all of the specifics about speed skating and the dynamics of running practices. If you are interested, please contact one of the coaches by going to the contact page.
